  recently i have been interested in investigating on how historical and mythical information has shaped religion today, particularly christianity.

  i have been researching a little on this topic and wanted to share some information i found.

  its interestingly noted in the info below that israel it seems believed in several gods and not just one.. "the distribution of the god el therefore extends from 3rd century akkadian culture eastward through aram and phoenicia and downward through northern palestine to jerusalem.

  yahweh, with his home in the deserts of southern levant, traveled north with the migration of the hebrews to come into competition with or displaced baal as el's traditional vizier, illustrated most clearly by psalm .

  has anyone heard of richard wheelock?

  if so, where can i get some press info in regards to his suicide.

  for those who dont know, apparently this was a prominent member of the bethel family, that commited suicide by jumping from the 4th floor bethel infirmary window....

  why is it that the wts seems to pick on children from such an early age?

  i was reading some personal stories in the best of forum, and so many have gone through rough times as a child in the jw.

  i personally remember times where i was ashamed, embarrassed, and upset about being a jw as a child.

  Have we really found God??

  while as a global community we have been able to come together in matters of science, technology and sometimes even government, humanity has never really found the truth about religion.

  whether one is true or not is where our conflicts begin.

  whether you are christian and believe in the bible or muslim and read the koran, both are sure the other is wrong.

  I need some help

  i have been reading and posting (sometimes) for about 7 months and am very grateful to have found a community that understand what i have been going through.

  i have been fading for a little over a year now, and have a sudden urge to speak out about how i feel and what wts is doing.

  i have tried this in the past with some family, including my wife, who is no longer with me, for the same reason....i have also spoken to my brother and mother.
